For 2023 we’ve changed the tradition a bit. Instead of Easter bunnies we’ve surprised the children and teenagers of the Kinder- und Jugendheim in Baden-Baden (https://www.kjh-baden-baden.de), the Bärenherz Kinderhospiz Wiesbaden (https://www.kinderhospiz-wiesbaden.de/de/) and the Kinderklinik in Heidelberg (https://www.klinikum.uni-heidelberg.de/zentrum-fuer-kinder-und-jugendmedizin) with little chocolate ladybirds for the 1st of may.
We are confident, that these beautiful ladybirds were a nice surprise for the children and teenagers.
As in recent years, we decided to distribute our little Easter bunnies to the Kinder- und Jugendheim in Baden-Baden (https://www.kjh-baden-baden.de) and to the Kinderklinik in Heidelberg (https://www.klinikum.uni-heidelberg.de/zentrum-fuer-kinder-und-jugendmedizin). We think, the Easter bunnies will give some nice Easter joy to those children and teenagers.
Andrea Hesch and Achim Meier, the two managers of children’s home Baden-Baden, were very happy about the donation of 4.500 € from SPS Consulting & Services GmbH, which will be used for a roll-out of high-speed WIFI at Children’s Home. Digitalization got a new push due to the Corona Crisis. High-Speed Internet is meanwhile essential. From one day to the next forms of teaching changed. Work sheets and teaching units had to be executed digital. At the beginning pupils had to getting used to this new form of school. On the other hand it was also a technical challenge as the Children’s home didn’t have a Wifi for the children and teenagers. Different digital equipment leads to social discrimination. Children and teenager living in a Children’s Home shouldn’t be even more disadvantaged. One more reason to push digitalization. To guarantee a WIFI without disruptions, some lines had to laid new. The use of simple WIFI repeater weren’t construcitve. There was some investions to be done, but the Children’s Home hadn’t the liquditiy.
Once again Ulrich Wenzel, managing director of SPS CS and friend of children’s home Baden-Baden supported the institution as he took a major part of the costs over. Due to the generous donation the children’s home gained some attractiveness and is now more sustainable and able to react to the changed forms of teaching. In parts contacts in every day life were restricted to the other children and teenager in the children’s home. Thanks to the new installed WIFI digital encounters were also possible.
The installation of the tent was made in less than one hour and with bright sunshine. A barbecue area was also built up in the middle of the tent, which will be inaugrate for sure soon. The children and teenager are able now to discover the new tent and its possibilities. We are very delighted that we can generate joy to the children and teenager of the youth home Baden-Baden with our donation
Until now we used the time before easter making our staff, consultants and further contacts a small easter-gift. As the major-part of our consultants and contact persons are working due to Corona-Virus remote, the small chocolate-bunnies couldn’t find their initially planned places.
That is why our bunnies took this year a special way – to children and teenagers in children’s home in Baden-Baden (http://www.kjh-baden-baden.de/), in Wiesbaden (https://www.kinderhospiz-wiesbaden.de/de/) and to the children’s clinic Heidelberg (https://www.klinikum.uni-heidelberg.de/zentrum-fuer-kinder-und-jugendmedizin).
We think, that the easter-bunnies make the the children and teenager happy and give them a nice easter-pleasure.
As in previous years we also donate in 2019 most of our christmas budget for people in need.
A big part of the budget goes to the „Deutsche Kinderkrebstiftung“. They stand up for cancer suffered children to help them in their healing process. The aim is to support the children to get the same life quality and future perspectives as children without cancer. The „Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung“ helps also affected families with qualified consulting and information. If the families are in a financial distress the foundation have the possibilty to support them as well.
„Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung“ supports and finances furthermore research projekts which are close to hospitals and put their focus on the small patients. In order that healing chances improves, safe treatments are guaranteed, new therapy methods can be found, late effects should be minimized or avoided completely.
Close to Heidelberg the „Deutsche Kinderkrebssstiftung“ runs their „Waldpiraten-Camp“ – an unique recreational facility, which helps cancer suffered children to gain new power and courage to find their way back to the everday life after their illness.
On the other hand we are supporting the project „Off Road Kids“. They take care about young kids from 12 years on, which are already living on the street. The foundation helps and supports the children finding their way back to life. We hope to enable the children to find their way with our help.
„Off Road Kids“ was founded in 1993 and is the only aid organisation in Germany which acts nationwide. „Off Road Kids“ runs own streetwork-stations in Berlin, Dortmund, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and Cologne, the online-counselling „sofahopper.de“, the education and integration program PREJOB, the health protection program STREETWORK+, a hotline which provide advice for parents and the consulting „Family-Neustart“ especially for parents and families. The aid organisation have furthermore a children’s home and an own institute for pedagogy management. Objective of „Off Road Kids“ is as follows: Giving all young person looked after the best possible viable perspective.
It is not easy to imagine that your own child becomes incurable ill. The child himself, the siblings, the parents, even the whole family has to learn to enjoy beautiful moments, as well as to allow and endure heavy feelings. Children and teenager experience the loss of a family member in different ways. The employees oft the Kinder & Jugend Hospiz Dienst are helping here in many ways, too.
When we heard about the tireless commitment volunteers offer to those affected, they help them to find strength, courage and hope for the future, it was important to us to support the employees at least a little. If only to relax the one or the other financial situation.
Since October 2014, the fountain “Muschelträger” (The Shell Carrier) by sculptor Paul Seiler is standing without figure in Baden-Baden, because his bronze figure was stolen.
We support the initiative to restore this over 100-year-old bronze figure of a boy:
In cooperation with the Technical University of Darmstadt, existing photos of the original bronze figure will be digitized. In the following 3-D printing process a new mold is created therefrom and a new bronze figure arises.

The Blindenwerkstätte Kornwestheim has, since then, developed into the largest basketry factory in German-speaking countries, in which exclusively blind and severely visually impaired young basket-makers work in a professional environment.
